About Us

Chris Lawson, a former Fleet Street journalist who spent over fifteen years riding and training racehorses for a hobby, turned full-time trainer in 2003.

With a record including Champion Owner/Trainer/Rider (1998) and Leading Trainer (East Anglian area 2007), he brings almost 20 years of experience to the successful training of racehorses for point-to-points and hunter-chases.

Priory Racing, formed in 2008 and based at Priory Home Farm, offers superb training facilities for prospective and existing owners seeking a refreshing training establishment for their horses. While always doing his best to train winners, Chris also places a huge emphasis on making point-to-pointing fun and the yard is always open for owners to visit their horses, watch schooling and work sessions or just drop by for coffee and a chat.

Owner-riders are especially welcome, while injured, convalescing and horses out of training or in pre-training are happily taken on livery.
